Mystic Valley Lacrosse Wins Two

The Mystic Valley Eagle’s lacrosse team improved its record to 5 and 3 with a 13-2 win over Lynn Tech.  Mystic Valley controlled the tempo of the game and went into halftime with a 10-0 lead.  Leading the offense was freshman Jayden Jean, who had 5 goals and an assist.  Jack Ryan and Cam Sullivan each had two goals on the evening while Zack Marks, Jeremiah Timothee, Brandon Kelso and Robbie Cummings each had lone goals.  Mark Toomajian had 4 assists, Jack Ryan had 3 assists and Jeremiah Timothee had a single assist. 

Robbie Wentzell made 8 saves in goal and the defensive unit shut down the opposition for the entire game. 

In the second game eighth grade attackman Jack Ryan tied the school record for goals in a game (9 goals Taylor Roseen in 2010) while the Mystic Valley Eagles  ran past the competition for a 15-3 win at Greater Lowell.  Ryan also had two assists on the day for a total of 11 points, which is one shy of the school record of 12 also held by Roseen.  .  “Scoring 9 goals in a game is extraordinary, doing so at the varsity level when you are in eighth grade is unheard of” said coach Marty Horkan. 

The teams traded goals early in the first quarter and the Eagles were hanging to a 5-2 lead at halftime.  The Eagles answered the call in the second half as Jayden Jean finished the day with 5 goals and 3 assists and Nathan Gerard had one goal and one assist.  Brandon Kelso and Marc Toomajian each contributed two assists on the day while Cameron Sullivan had one assist and played a great game. 

After the game, coach Horkan said “I am proud of the way the team is progressing this season and I look forward to seeing them get better every day”.  “Trevor Bonaccorsi has been outstanding in net this season and our defensive effort has translated into our offense putting points on the board”. 

The Eagles will be back in action Wednesday as they take on North Shore/Essex Aggie at home at 4 PM.
