Dear Neighbors,
Mayor McGlynn set up the City Council to look like the bad guys for having to say "no to school children" - at least that is how the Mayor has let it appear. Two weeks ago our Energy Effiecency Representative went before the City Council and asked for money to rehab old windows and doors, she was denied by the city council due to insuffient funds. This city broke, that's why we've been bonding so much lately. Bonding for maintenous on side walks. We just passed a bond for STEM science labs, which by the way I support, to the tune of 8.3 million dollars over the life of the bond.
So now, Mayor Mc Glynn uses the emotional podium of the school committee to have our energy representative garner the support of parents in our city by "explaining" how children in the schools are cold in the classrooms at the highschool. The mayor is hoping that parents will to call their city councilors and demand they support this project. No one wants teenage kids to be cold in the classrooms but I am more than sure that there are other areas of neglect at the highschool like sanitation (i.e. bathrooms). The problem with this proposal is where does it stop, next week the Mayor will do the same thing for another small school project and then another. The mayor needs to meet with the council, if not in front of the council, at least behind closed doors like he does with all his department heads. Mr. Mayor, your new tact is too take the money out of "reserves", that is only a shell game and you know it.

Mr. Mayor when will you learn to stop manipulating the people?
