Mystic Valley Crew Wins Mayor’s Cup
The Mystic Valley crew team had a busy and impressive weekend as they competed in two meets and did quite well in both.
First, at Saturday’s Novice Challenge in Lowell, the Boy’s Novice 4+ (Cox- Amy Nguyen, Gaetano Cerundolo, Brian Lai, Joe Witlow and Patrick Daly) medaled 3rd in their heat, and the Girl’s Novice 4+ (Cox- Jamie Ferrari, Emma Willis, Bridget Tully, Ann Kurian and Nancy Nguyen) came in 4th overall.

At Sunday’s Mayor’s Cup Invitational, the team did great again. The Eagles raced against Medford, Bedford NH and Milton. All boats posted their fastest times of the year.
The Girls’ Varsity 4+ came in 2nd in the Grand Finals losing to Bedford by only 1/5 of a boat length (.6 seconds). The girls’ team is made up of: Jessica Lieu- coxswain; Fayrouz Farhane; Emily Kelly; Asha Kurian and Amanda Valenti.

The highlight of the day for the Eagles was the Warrior Boys’ Varsity 4+, who brought home the Corvino Family Cup to adorn the trophy rack. The boys team is made up of: Nick Saponaro- coxswain;Marco Hanna; Ben Horton; Mario Hanna and Joe Finn.
