Siobhan Glynn Wins Mystic Valley Leader of the Year Award
Mystic Valley graduating senior and Medford resident, Siobhan Glynn, was recently presented with the Leader of the Year Award. The award is given to the student who has gone above and beyond what is required in the realm of community service.
The award was presented by Ms. Nicole Rubin who is in charge of Mystic Valley’s Youth Services. Hen presenting the award Ms. Rubin said: “although many leaders were willing to contribute more time than was required as well as do additional tasks beyond their assigned group. Siobhan’s exceptional performance with the students for the past four years was recognized not only by me but by many of our faculty as well. To give you an idea of how dedicated she was, her hours were completed in October and she continued to complete all 3 sessions of SASC which ended in mid April. She was often the classroom supervisor; she did all kinds of paperwork; she stayed late whenever she was needed. She often waited for the last student to be picked up before she left. She also helped with the Kindergarten workshop. From 9th grade to 12th grade, I have seen this young woman grow into a responsible young adult. I actually taught her math in Kindergarten! I am pleased to present the 2013 Leader of the Year award to an extremely hard working young woman and one of my most dedicated leaders.”
She was a member of the National Honor Society, Latin Club, Model UN, and she is the President of the Drama Club. She sings with the Handel and Haydn Young Women’s Chorus, performing in and around the Boston area. This fall she will attend Bryn Mawr College on a full Posse Scholarship.
