We approached City Hall to help facilitate a World Cup soccer watch party, but were informed that there was no available budget, as it had been fully allocated to Arab Heritage Month.
The World Cup is a global event that brings nations together, and it is a meaningful opportunity for our youth to experience and enjoy it alongside their peers and neighbors.
It is disappointing that we were unable to secure support for such an event—especially considering that it takes place only once every four years and would require relatively modest funding. With rising property taxes, it is difficult to understand why an initiative like this could not be accommodated.
