<h1>Think: a pride parade on the water!</h1>
Fabulously decorated human-powered boats of all types—canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, rowing shells, dragon boats, kinetic sculptures, and more—will paddle around the Mystic River basin in Somerville &amp; Medford MA, to celebrate LGBTQIA+ people and their allies.
Free and open to all, this is a family-friendly non-alcoholic event to showcase the Mystic River is for EVERY BODY.
Participants: bring your own boat and launch from <a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/cDXJEEBibqTmP8GD6" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Blessing of the Bay Boathouse</a> dock, or rent boats there for a half-day at <a href="https://paddleboston.com/rentals/our-locations/blessing-of-the-bay-somerville/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Paddle Boston</a>. Boats launch 11 AM until 11:45 AM. Boat registration is highly encouraged so you will receive email updates and instructions. 
Spectators: all are welcome along the riverbanks, at <a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/8M66BVzGfwUEbhLo7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Macdonald Park in Medford</a> and near <a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/B8Uz58wccL85TXVr8" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Blessing of the Bay Park in Somerville</a>. The Flotilla commences 12-noon until 1 PM. Just show up and cheer!

Trum Field

Fireworks return to Somerville skies on Tuesday, June 30, at the City annual summer celebration featuring live music, food, family-friendly activities, and of course, a fireworks finale.
Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with live music from Plutos Return, a Somerville High School alumni band. DJ Live will follow with a lively mix of pop, soul, funk, and classic hits, and at 7:45 p.m., local funk band Search Party takes the stage.
At approximately 9 p.m., Mayor Jake Wilson will deliver brief remarks, followed by the National Anthem and the official countdown to the fireworks show. Food vendors will be available throughout the evening, including local Somerville favorites, plus classic treats like fried dough and lemonade.Due to the large crowds and loud noise associated with Somerville Firworks, the City recommends that attendees leave pets at home and avoid bringing unnecessary bags or backpacks. All bags and backpacks are subject to inspection.
To support public safety and pedestrian access, traffic and parking restrictions and road closures will be in place in the area around Trum Field. Attendees are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

Our entertainment includes a Live Band PLUS a BIG SCREEN Presentation!Our Independence Day Celebration starts at 6:00 pm, our favorite Oldies Band, The Reminisants will entertain us once again! This program is ideal for teenagers&nbsp;(in grades 9-12)&nbsp;interested in fashion design! This course is an excellent opportunity from them to develop their sewing and sketching skills.
Two sessions are available during our summer semester. SESSION I: July 6th to July 27th SESSION II: July 29th to August 19th Both are on Mondays &amp; Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. We offer two levels: Regular &amp; Advanced (for students who have taken the regular level in the past).

Leaders 4SC is a summer workshop for middle school (rising 5th to 10th grade) students on writing and speaking, as well as leadership, communication, decision-making, and advocacy. Our goal is to train the next generation of civic leaders: members of a community who actively participate in society.<a href="https://leaders4sc.org" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">SIGN&nbsp;UP</a>
By the end of each week, students will have<ul><li>Completed at least one writing or speaking assignment arguing for and defending their opinion on any current issues</li><li>Participated in daily discussions and activities on a different major current event every day</li><li>Participated in daily task force activities to role play as key decision makers and stakeholder</li><li>Discussed, debated, and bonded with an incredible group of engaged young people! </li></ul>
