Kick off the fall and support local pet rescue efforts with bids on fun and useful items
for people and pets alike
MEDFORD – Sept. 8, 2026 – Start the fall off right with items from Kitty Connection’s Online Mini Auction Friday, Sept. 11, through Sunday, Sept. 13. The “Autumn Tails” themed auction will raise funds to support the care of homeless cats and dogs.
“Kitty Connection depends on a devoted network of volunteers and help from a generous community of supporters to carry out our mission of finding loving foster and permanent homes for hundreds of abandoned and surrendered pets each year,” Kitty Connection Founder and Director Marie Mazzeo said. “Proceeds from this upcoming auction will enable us to finance medical procedures, as well as the day-to-day expenses of caring for pets and connecting them with their forever homes.”
Kitty Connection annually rescues more than 450 homeless animals in Greater Boston and the North and South Shores, has a low-cost spay and neuter program and funds over 375 spay and neuter procedures for pet owners in need each year (email: lowcost@kittyconnection.net). Volunteers provide foster homes for cats and kittens until they are adopted, and Kitty Connection ensures that they are spayed/neutered, tested for common illnesses, and vaccinated before they go to their new homes. Kitty Connection also provides community education and outreach about the importance of responsible pet ownership.
In addition to dozens of items ranging from clothing and home décor to pet toys and gift baskets, “Autumn Tails” mini auction highlights include: a two-night stay including breakfast at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, a 24-inch Insignia fire TV valued at $11, and several restaurant gift cards. Also featured is a horseshoe crab shell uniquely crafted, painted and bejeweled to depict a cat face. Valued at $150, it’s the creation of Medford artist Megan Polcaro, who has also supported Kitty Connection by adopting three cats to prevent the bonded trio from being separated.
Online auction bidding will open at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, and continue until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13. Bidding guidelines and other information are available at: https://www.myminiauction.com/kittyconnection Winning bidders will be notified after the auction closes.
