Celebrate The Holidays With The Cape Ann Big Band At The Chevalier Theatre Saturday December 12!

Formed in December 2010, director Carlos Menezes, Jr. teamed up with friends and fellow musicians Shawn Lowe, Paula Burns, Rick Geraghty and local Medford Optician Dana Cohen to discuss the potentials of starting up a 17 piece big band. What was once a dream quickly became a reality when Menezes found the roster full in just a week`s time. Driven by the talents of Cape Ann musicians, the Cape Ann Big Band prides itself in entertaining and connecting with it`s local community. The band continues to inspire, challenge, and educate audiences about jazz, swing, soul, and rock n` roll. It`s repertoire always features a number of vocal and instrumental standards from the “Golden Era” of swing, pop tunes and a number of show tunes derived from popular films. as one quickly learns, the organization, success, and mobility of this ensemble is only made possible by the efforts of its participants. This is a group that truly operates as a family. Born in the basement and bred in a garage, the Cape Ann Big Band is not your average swing orchestra! For 5 years now the group continues to perform before sold out audiences on the North Shore!
