Closed Medford Restaurant Space To Get New Tenant

Another restaurant is already set to open in the former Emiliano'z space on Boston Avenue.

MEDFORD, MA – Restaurant space doesn't stay vacant long in Medford. Just a few weeks after Emiliano'z Mexican Grill ended its 10-year run on Boston Avenue, a ramen shop is set to take its place. Pikaichi, which closed its Allston location in December amid rising rents, will open at 123-125 Boston Ave., according to a post on the restaurant's Facebook page.

Pikaichi's return could come as early as March. According to Eater Boston, which first reported the news of its reopening, the Allston favorite serves three different styles of ramen, rice bowls and curry dishes.

Diehard fans celebrated the restaurant's announcement in the comments on its Facebook page.

Emiliano'z Mexican Grill opened in 2008 in the former Giuseppi's Kitchen space, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. Its menu included Mexican fare such as burritos, enchiladas and tacos, as well as beer, wine and sangria.

A Dec. 29 social media announcement said the restaurant would permanently close at the end of business that day.
