The fire department said winds of over 40 mph knocked steel decking into the worker.

MEDFORD, MA — A construction worker at Tufts University was hit by a piece of steel decking Thursday, the Medford Fire Department said.

The worker was on the fourth floor at the time. Winds of over 40 mph caused the decking to come up and hit him, according to the fire department.

The worker was stabilized and lowered to the ground in a cherry picker. The Medford and Tufts University police departments assisted at the scene.
