Foundry on Elm Hires New Executive Chef

The Davis Square restaurant's new chef is a Kentucky native.

Foundry on Elm has hired a new executive chef.

The Davis Square restaurant recently hired Alex Jenkins, a Kentucky native with an affinity for fresh local fare and seasonal New England flavors, according to a release.

Jenkins’ cooking career started in Ireland, at Boston’s Ritz Carlton Hotel and then at the Claremont Resort and Spa in Berkley, California. She then worked at Boston’s Algonquin Club, at The West Side Lounge in Cambridge and at Good Foods Market and Café in Kentucky. Most recently, she has been at Natasha’s Bistro & Bar in Lexington, Kentucky.

A sample of Jenkins’ new menu items:

  • Grilled Korean Bulgogi Wings with Asian Pear Sauce
  • Pan Roasted Scottish Salmon with English Pea Sauce, Provencal Herbs, Spring Asparagus, Olive Oil Whipped Potatoes
  • Bourbon Brined Pork Chop with Smoked Paprika, Bacon Balsamic Reduction, Red Grapes, Great Hill Blue Potatoes
  • Pan Seared Shrimp with Local Lilly's Fresh Linguine, Shallot Preserved Lemon Cream, Baby Arugula
