Free Breakfast At Medford Schools Next Week

The district encourages families to take advantage of healthy options during National School Breakfast Week.

MEDFORD, MA – Medford Public Schools will offer free breakfast to students district-wide next week to encourage families to take advantage of healthy choices available during National School Breakfast Week. School cafeterias have a variety of whole grain cereals and baked goods, as well as low-fat and fat-free milk and fruit.

"A healthy breakfast at the start of the day is one way to ensure students are getting the best education possible," Juile Bradley, food service director, said in a statement. "National School Breakfast Week helps us educate parents and students about all the healthy, great tasting, and appealing choices we offer."

  • Reach higher levels of achievement in math
  • Score higher on standardized tests
  • Have better concentration, memory and alertness
  • Have improved attendance, behavior, and academic performance
  • Maintain a healthy weight

The district serves over 700 breakfast meals daily through the federally funded School Breakfast Program. Breakfast will be available for free March 5-9.
