GreenUp CleanUp of Hickey Park April 25, 2-4

The Roberts Elementary School PTO will be cleaning up Hickey Park for students and the public to enjoy this summer.

The Roberts Elementary School PTO, in conjunction with Grace Episcopal Church and the City of Medford Parks Department, will be sponsoring a GreenUp CleanUp afternoon at Hickey Park from 2-4 pm on Saturday, April 25th, 2015. Join your neighbors and help us get Hickey Park ready for summer, as part of Grace Church‘s 6th spring series of GreenUp CleanUps of Medford‘s Parks and Open Spaces. Children and adults alike are welcome to help pitch in to get Hickey Park ready for warmer days.

This winter’s snowfall record was hard on everyone, and it was hard on our local parks. The overflow of snow on our streets meant that our common areas such as city parks were often used as dumping grounds for excess. These piles will leave a great deal of trash and dirt behind in their wake. Hickey Park enjoys great use by families, dog owners and baseball players throughout the summer, and will be used for the Roberts school Field Day in early June.

Grace Church and the city will provide some rakes, gloves and other equipment. Participants may bring their own equipment, or just show up with a willingness to pitch in and clean. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided thanks to Whole Foods Medford.
