How Many Medford Republicans Voted For Scott Lively?

MEDFORD, MA – A candidate who founded an anti-LGBT group and believes gay men were the cause of the Holocaust may seem like a long shot for governor of the bluest state in the union, but Scott Lively wasn't exactly trounced by Gov. Charlie Baker in Tuesday's primary.

The conservative pastor received 35 percent of the statewide vote in his bid for the Republican nomination Tuesday, running on a platform "to bring Biblical values back into the political arena here," according to his website.

So how many registered Republicans in Medford voted for Lively? According to the Medford Transcript, 1,823 total votes were cast in the Republican primary for governor. Of those, Baker received 1,075 votes to Lively's 748. Lively fared slightly better in Medford than he did statewide, netting about 41 percent of the vote.
