Kidnapping, Vehicular Homicide Among Medford Indictments

MEDFORD, MA – Five cases with ties to Medford are among the latest round of indictments in Middlesex County. District Attorney Marian Ryan on Thursday announced indictments handed down between Nov. 29 and Jan. 10.

Included in the cases is a local teenager charged with motor vehicle homicide in connection with a fatal crash last spring.

Raza Khan, 17, of Medford, was charged with motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence, leaving the scene of a personal injury or death, operating under the influence causing serious bodily injury (2 counts), and being a youthful offender. Maxary Lafontant, 23, of Everett, was charged with kidnapping, human trafficking, assault and battery (3 counts), and strangulation (2 counts). The Assistant District Attorney is Marisa Tagliareni.

Taurean Pearson, 37, of Medford, was charged with possession of ammunition without a license (2 counts), possession of a loaded firearm (2 counts), and being an armed career criminal. The Assistant District Attorney is Wendi Safran.

Junior Saint-John, 27, of Malden, was charged with armed assault with intent to murder, carrying a firearm, possession of a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and attempted assault and battery by firearm (5 counts). Joseph Zamy, 22, of Malden, was charged with kidnapping and assault and battery. The Assistant District Attorney is Marisa Tagliareni.
