Longtime Medford Bakery Closed, Could Be Temporary

Reports conflict over whether the Main Street pastry shop will reopen.

MEDFORD, MA – A longtime Italian bakery in Medford is currently closed, but it is unclear whether the closure is permanent. Italo on Main Street in South Medford has shut down, and posts on the Medford Square Facebook group conflict over whether or not it will reopen, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.

One post says the bakery has temporarily closed for a family matter overseas. Others say it may be closed for good, Boston Restaurant Talk reported. The bakery is listed as "permanently closed" on Google.

Italo, located at 509 Main St., serves pizza in addition to bread, cookies and pastries.
