Longtime Medford City Clerk Retiring

Ed Finn has served as city clerk for 20 years.

MEDFORD, MA – Longtime Medford city clerk Ed Finn will retire later this year. Finn, who has served as city clerk since 1998, will officially vacate the role on Sept. 11. The Medford city council will select his successor.

According to the Medford Transcript, the council hopes to name a candidate on Aug. 14. The city clerk manages the community's records, such as marriage licenses, permits and accounts of city council meetings. The clerk also oversees the city's elections.

To apply for the city clerk position, you must be a Medford resident and registered to vote in the city. Candidates should send a letter of interest and resume to Richard Caraviello, Council President, c/o the City Clerk’s Office, 85 George P. Hassett Drive, Room 103, Medford. The deadline is June 29.
