Man Dies After Medford Commercial Building Fire
The two-alarm Swan Street fire broke out early Sunday morning, according to Medford police.
MEDFORD, MA — One person died over the weekend in a fire at a Swan Street commercial building, according to Medford police.
Firefighters and police responded to 58 Swan St. near 4:30 a.m. Sunday after the fire broke out. Authorities were aware that one employee of the business was sleeping inside.
Firefighters found the employee in a bathroom, police said in a news release. They attempted to resuscitate him before taking him to Mass General Hospital — where he was pronounced dead.

Police did not immediately release the man's cause of death, and did not know the cause of the fire. Local police and fire officials, plus the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office and the state Fire Marshal's Office, are investigating.
