Medford City Council Approves Last Burke Financial Requests
A new administration will take over Jan. 6.
MEDFORD, MA — The Medford City Council approved some final financial requests from Mayor Stephanie M. Burke before a new administration takes over at City Hall. Included in the funding was a transfer of $207,758.10 from free cash to buy 36 all-band portable radios and related accessories for the fire department, according to the Medford Transcript.
Burke told the Council the current radios are more than 15 years old and the model has been discontinued, making it difficult to find parts.
The Council also voted to give $45,000 from the Historic Preservation Reserve to the Royall House Association to help fund the Royall House and Slave Quarters Windows Restoration Project, which will help preserve 300-year-old buildings.
