Medford Commuters Lose 700 Spots To New Casino: Report
The Encore Boston Harbor casino in Everett will lease 700 spaces at a garage near Wellington Station for its employees.
MEDFORD, MA — A Medford parking garage near Wellington Station will soon have 700 fewer spots for commuters, according to the Boston Herald. The Encore Boston Harbor resort and casino will lease the spaces at the Station Landing Garage for its employees starting in July.
A spokesperson for Encore told the Herald it will lease 100 more spots in another garage per an agreement with surrounding cities to provide 800 off-site spots for employees.
The garage is privately run by Pilgrim Parking and is not affiliated with the MBTA. The nearby MBTA Wellington lot has passes available and is not full, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo told the Herald.
