Medford To Dedicate Street Corner To Harold MacGilvray Jr.

MacGilvray, a retired Metropolitan District Commission officer, began his law enforcement career in Medford.

MEDFORD, MA — The city will dedicate a street corner to Officer Harold MacGilvray Jr. The corner of Marion Street and Main Street will be named "Patrolman Harold F. MacGilvray, Jr. Square" this weekend.

MacGilvray was the father of current Medford police officers Paul MacGilvray and Harold MacGilvray. He started his law enforcement career with the Medford Police Department in 1964 before joining the Metropolitan District Commission Police in 1967.

A dedication ceremony will be held Saturday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.
