Medford Delivery Driver Recovering After Stabbing

Police are looking for two people in connection with the stabbing of a May's Café employee Saturday night.

MEDFORD, MA – A delivery driver stabbed in Medford Saturday night has been moved out of intensive care. Liang Cheng, 42, an employee of Café May, underwent six hours of surgery and had his kidney and gallbladder removed, the restaurant's former owner told the Medford Transcript.

Cheng called 911 around 8:10 p.m. Saturday after he was stabbed on Washington Street. Officers arrived to find him lying on the ground with a stab wound to his lower back, according to police.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help Cheng's family while he recovers. It has raised over $4,000 of its $5,000 goal in just one day.

Police are looking for the attacker and a suspected accomplice in connection with the stabbing, according to the Transcript. Anyone with information is asked to call Medford Police at 781-395-1212 or leave an anonymous tip by using the "Tip 411" app with instructions located on the department's website.
