Medford Engineering Company Partners With McGlynn
The partnership, which kicked off last Thursday, will build on the math and science curricula at the middle school.

MEDFORD, MA – Local engineering and technology company MIDE has partnered with McGlynn Middle School to build on students' understanding of engineering. Dr. Marthinus van Schoor, a Ph.D. graduate of MIT, founded MIDE and proposed the partnership to show students the field's real-world application.
The collaboration kicked off at an assembly last Thursday and featured activities with four classes of students on Jan. 25. Additional sessions are planned for February and March.
"Even if we inspire only one student, that is rewarding enough," Dr. Jeff Court, senior mechanical engineer and director of innovation of MIDE, said in a statement. Court has been spearheading the partnership, which includes 14 MIDE volunteers.
