Medford Gets New Company On Boston Ave.

The 10,000-square-foot space at 200 Boston Ave., owned by Cummings Properties, has a new tenant.

MEDFORD, MA — The 10,000-square-foot space on Boston Ave. has a new tenant coming in. enEvolv, a biotech firm, will open a laboratory and research office at 200 Boston Ave. later in December. The commercial building is operated by Cummings Properties.

The Boston Ave. location will replace enEvolv’s former facility on Morrissey Boulevard in Boston.

enEvolv works with pharmaceutical, nutrition, energy, and specialty chemical companies to engineer microbes and produce bio-based chemicals, according to a release from Cummings Properties.

"Boston Avenue is a great location for biotech firms because it’s close to research and academic institutions like Tufts and MIT,” said Cummings leasing officer Steve Cusano. "In addition, it’s close enough to the city to offer public transportation and many area amenities, but client firms also benefit from free parking as well as leasing rates that are a third lower than those typically found in nearby Cambridge."

enEvolv is the latest player in life sciences and technology to base an office at the Boston Ave. space; Tufts, Greenlight Bioscience, Seventh Sense, and MIDÉ are among the others.
