Medford High Hosts 1st Annual Health and Wellness Fair

MEDFORD, MA – Earlier this week, Medford Public Schools hosted its first annual Fall Health and Wellness Fair at Medford High School to promote wellness and provide helpful tips for good health.

More than 30 vendors attended the event, which allowed attendees to peruse tables loaded with important information and participate in free raffles and giveaways.

The Medford Public Schools Food Service Department was on hand to serve chili and watermelon slices grown in the Medford High garden to the city and school employees who attended. West Medford Square's Fruition Vegan Kitchen provided vegan appetizers, and attendees enjoyed music from 105.7 WROR.

Among the participants were Medford Voke's Health Assisting Class, which hosted a table and took attendees' blood pressure readings. The event also marked the return of some former Mustangs, including Nancy Schneider from Citizens Bank; Andrea Bates McGrath from Bates Financial and Insurance; Armstrong Ambulance's Sean Mangan; It Works' Stacey Williams Mundele, and Cyndi Webber Dichard from Shakeology/Beach Body Fitness.

Another familiar face was Jen Belanger, the art teacher at McGlynn Elementary, who assisted at the Energy Barre table.

As part of helping city and school employees achieve their goals, Supervisor of Health and Physical Education Rachel Perry is spearheading a fitness campaign called "1st and 10," which was highlighted at the fair. Those who participate will be entered to win raffle prizes once they reach their wellness goals.
