Medford High School Ranked 'Silver' By U.S. News
Medford High was among the top 100 in Massachusetts on U.S. News' "Best High Schools" rankings.

MEDFORD, MA – Medford High School earned high marks in Massachusetts this year, according to U.S. News, which on Wednesday released its "Best High Schools" rankings for 2018. The Boston Latin School was ranked the best in Massachusetts, and overall, the Bay State's high schools top-ranked nationwide. California's schools were No. 2.
Medford came in at No. 88 in Massachusetts and 2,318th nationwide. The school's enrollment is 1,195 and its student-teacher ratio is 12 to 1. On test scores, 74 percent of students were proficient in math and 89 percent were proficient in reading, earning MHS "silver" designation from U.S. News.
"Top-ranked schools succeed in three main areas: exceeding expectations on state proficiency tests, offering challenging coursework and graduating their students," Anita Narayan, a managing editor at U.S. News, said in a statement.
