Medford Man Arrested For 'Shoot Up A School' Facebook Post

Somerville police arrested the 20-year-old after they received a report about a Facebook threat over the weekend.

MEDFORD, MA – A Medford man was arrested over the weekend after police in Somerville received a report of a threatening Facebook post. Tyreek Rodriguez Smith, 20, was charged with false bomb threat and threatening to commit a crime.

Police said Smith allegedly wrote a Facebook post around 5 p.m. Feb. 17 that said, "I wanna shoot up a school that s*** would be fun, just shooting a whole bunch of people who think the matter in the head #imnottho #sikeyaneverno #sueme." A female, who police did not identify, then posted a comment that mentioned the Full Circle School in Somerville, according to the police report.

Other people also responded to the post, police said.

Smith is the younger brother of a person known to Somerville police who could have access to guns, according to police.
