MEDFORD, MA — A Medford man is facing his second OUI charge after driving onto a law and hitting a telephone pole in Arlington, police said. Police found a Red Honda Civic stopped by the side of the road July 21 around 7:12 p.m. A caller reported the crash and said the car left the scene, according to the police report.

The driver, 37-year-old Brian Buckley, was trying to change the front driver's side tire, police said. When police asked Buckley to drop the tire iron in his hand, he responded with a "blank stare," the report stated. Officers asked him two more times to drop the tire iron, and he put it down and went over to the sidewalk, according to police.

Buckley told officers he hit a curb on Summer Street. He was "very unsteady" on his feet and refused to take a sobriety test, police said. After he was placed in handcuffs and asked again, Buckley agreed to undergo the tests, according to police.
