Medford Man Faces Gun Charges After Traffic Stop: MSP
Alton Palmer, 23, was charged with having a loaded weapon after he was stopped in Lynn Monday, State Police said.

MEDFORD, MA — A Medford man was arrested on weapons charges Monday night after a traffic stop in Lynn, State Police said. Alton Palmer, 23, was stopped on Summer Street in Lynn around 6 p.m. for driving without a front license plate, according to police.
Troopers noticed Palmer "repeatedly" looking at a backpack on the passenger seat. They searched the car and found a semi-automatic .32-caliber Mauser handgun loaded with three rounds of ammunition, according to State Police. Palmer is not licensed to carry a firearm in Massachusetts, police said.
Palmer was charged with carrying a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, number plate violation and no inspection sticker.

He was arraigned Tuesday in Lynn District Court.
