Medford, Now Northeastern Conference Member, Recognizes Athletes
One female and one male scholar-athlete from Medford were chosen from across all students and sports teams at to be honored Sunday.

The following is from Medford Public Schools:
Medford High School athletic teams are now part of the Northeastern Conference comprised of sixteen (16) schools throughout the area, including schools on the North Shore all the way to Gloucester.
Yesterday, at The Porthole Restaurant in Lynn, MA, one female and one male scholar-athlete from each school, chosen from across all students and sports teams at each school, were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements and athletic prowess. The Northeast Conference places primary emphasis on academic performance and honors those scholars who also demonstrate excellence on the playing field.

Ailish Fallon, who will attend the University of Pittsburgh in the fall, was the female honoree. Benjamin Candee, accepted into the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Engineering program, was the male recipient.
Also representing Medford Public Schools were Robert (Bobby) Maloney, Director of Athletics and Hall of Fame Coach Lou Ruggiero.
