Medford Plaza Target Now Open

The 32,000-square-foot store opened Wednesday in the newly renovated complex.

MEDFORD, MA – A new Target opened Wednesday at Medford Plaza. The 32,000-square-foot "small format" store does not hold the full stock of a regular Target but includes groceries, clothing, beauty and health products and home goods. It also has a Starbucks and CVS.

The store employs 70 workers, 67 of which live in Medford, Mayor Stephanie M. Burke said at the ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday evening. Store Manager Maria Santiago told Patch she plans on making more hires and stressed the importance of having a feeling of community at the store.

Tuesday's ribbon cutting ushered in a soft opening. The store will have its grand opening this Saturday, Aug. 19.
