Medford Pool, Pond Guide: Opening Dates, Passes, More
Everything you need to know about staying cool in Medford this summer.

MEDFORD, MA – It's icky out now, but it's not too early to start thinking about how you want to spend your time outside this summer. Medford has a number of facilities to take a dip in when the temperatures rise. Here's your guide to making the most of summer in the city.
Wright's Pond
Open for the summer Sunday, June 24
Hours: 10 a.m. to one-half hour before dusk

Located on Elm Street in North Medford
Spend your day swimming, picnicking, and resting in the sand at Wright’s Pond. To access Wright’s Pond, visitors must be a resident and obtain a season pass. Walk-in passes and vehicle passes are available. Wright’s Pond is also available for birthday parties. Visit www.MedfordRecreation.org for more information.

Passes
Vehicle Sticker:
$50 ($30 for vehicles with handicap placards and for seniors 62 and older)
Walk-in Pass:
$20 (Admits 1-3 people)
Please note: For visitors using a vehicle sticker, only one car-load of visitors per day is allowed.
How To Purchase A Pass
In person (preferred method):
Visit Room 108 at Medford City Hall to purchase a pass in the Treasurer/Collector’s Office.
In-person payments can be made by cash or check only. Please provide proof of residency (examples of proof of residency can be found below.) Hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday between 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM;
Wednesday 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM; Friday 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM.
Medford Day: Sunday June 3 from 1:00-4:00 PM behind the Andrews Middle School
Cardboard Boat Races: Sunday, June 10 from 12:00-4:00 PM at Wright’s Pond
Circle the Square: Thursday, June 21 from 3:30-7:30 PM at the Recreation table
Online
Visit www.MedfordRecreation.org to create a Household Account. Please give up to 48 hours for account approval. Once your account has been created you will receive an email confirmation, and can then purchase a pass to Wright’s Pond or Tufts Pool online. Once proof of residency has been determined, passes will be mailed to you.
By Mail
A registration form can be found online at www.MedfordRecreation.org. Complete the form and return with
proof of residency and a check made out the City of Medford. Examples of proof of residency can be found
below. Your passes will then be mailed to you. Mail information to:

Please provide the following information to show proof of residency by mail or in-person:
• If purchasing a vehicle pass, please provide a copy of your vehicle registration and license.
• If purchasing a walk-in pass or pool pass, provide a copy of drivers license, Massachusetts ID, or utility bill.
Tufts Pool
Open for the summer Monday, June 25
Located at 449 Main St. Medford
Cool off at Tufts Pool, which features both a deep-water facility as well as a wading pool. Passes
can now be purchased online, by mail, or in the Treasurer/Collector’s Office at Medford City Hall.
Passes will not be sold at Tufts Pool.
Membership
Resident: Individual - $30; Family - $80
Non-Resident: Individual - $60; Family - $135
Children 4 and under do not need a pass
Hours of Operation
Monday – Friday
1–5 p.m.: Open swim
5–8 p.m.: Adult & Family Swim (lanes will be provided in addition to open swim)
1–8 p.m.: Wading Pool
Saturday & Sunday
10 a.m.– 5 p.m.: Open swim
5–7 p.m.: Adult Swim
10 a.m.–7 p.m.: Wading Pool
*Limited space: Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m. for Medford Minnows
Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for Aqua Power Fitness

Medford High School Pool
Throughout the summer, the Medford High School Pool is open to the public for families, adults, and seniors. The pool is located at Medford High School, 489 Winthrop Street. To purchase a pass, stop by the Medford Community Schools Office at 489 Winthrop Street or call 781-393-2226.

1-month pass for resident: $50
1-month pass for non-resident: $75
3-month pass for resident: $120
3-month pass for non-resident: $150
Seniors/Disabled Individuals: $50 for 6 months (residents or non-residents)
Summer Special: June-August $75 (residents or non-residents)

August

The High School Pool will be closed August 20-24.
