Medford PS Considering Lesley University Partnership
The potential agreement, which the School Committee will discuss Thursday, includes the renovation of the MHS gym.

MEDFORD, MA – Medford Public Schools is considering a partnership with Cambridge-based Lesley University that would allow the college to use some MPS athletic facilities in exchange for renovations to the Medford High School gymnasium and access to Lesley University programs. The School Committee of the Whole will hold a public meeting Thursday to review the proposal.
Lesley University is seeking access to the MHS gym during times that do not conflict with Medford's athletic calendar, according to school officials. The college also wants to use space from the city of Medford, including Dugger Park for tennis.
For its part, Lesley University would fund renovations, maintenance and security at the gym. Medford Public Schools would also have access to educational programs and services offered by Lesley, such as professional development assistance and teacher specialist recruitments.
