Medford To Receive $125K Annually From Encore Boston Harbor

The city has formed a fund committee to determine how to utilize the casino's annual payments.

MEDFORD, MA —Mayor Stephanie M. Burke announced that a Medford Community Fund Committee has been formed as part of the Surrounding Community Agreement between the city and Encore Boston Harbor. The committee will be tasked with determining the best utilization of the $125,000 received by the city annually.

The committee consists of John Falco, president of the Medford City Council; Kathy Kreatz, vice chair of the Medford School Committee; Neil Osborne, director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion; and Erin Rafferty, Medford resident. They will be responsible for reviewing financial requests and awarding funds to qualifying organizations.

"I am confident that the appointed individuals have the expertise and knowledge of the
community to be instrumental in performing and executing the responsibilities of this
important initiative," Mayor Burke said in a statement. "The Committee members are all well-informed of the community needs and all bring a unique perspective to the table."
