Medford Residents Chat Up Gubernatorial Candidate Jay Gonzalez

Gonzalez made his case to the attendees that supporting him would help Medford achieve its own goals moving forward.

The following is a press release:

Medford residents heard from gubernatorial candidate Jay Gonzalez Wednesday night at a meeting of
the Democratic City Committee. Committee Co-chair and State Representative Paul Donato introduced
Gonzalez to an attentive group of residents at the Senior Center on Riverside Ave. Gonzalez shared
details about his experience working to support the citizens of our state and explained his belief “that if
we aim high, work hard, and support each other along the way, we can make a meaningful difference in
people’s lives.”

During his comments, Gonzalez detailed his support for education, income equality, and affordable
healthcare for all, among other important goals. He contrasted his experience and goals with those of
Governor Baker and made his case to the attendees that supporting him would help Medford achieve its
own goals moving forward.

A very lively Q&A session followed Gonzalez’s remarks with questions from the audience covering topics
such as affordable housing, early childhood education (which Gonzalez identified as his top priority) and
job growth & job creation, particularly in parts of the state that may not be seeing their share of the
recent economic growth. Gonzalez earnestly expressed an intent to help all citizens across the state,
and his message appeared well received by the Medford residents in attendance.

In addition to Representative Donato, Medford City Councilman John Falco, City Committee co-chair
Nancy White, and Democratic Ward Committee chairs Michael Ruggiero, Henry Milorin, and Maxim
Weinstein were in attendance, amongst other residents.
