Medford Residents Donate $2K To Fire Department
The employees of Cummings Properties selected the Medford Fire Department for Employee Directed Giving.

MEDFORD, MA — Two Medford residents have donated $1,000 each to the Medford Fire Department as part of their Employee Directed Giving. Michael Donaghey and Natalie Breen are employees of Cummings Properties and volunteer for the Cummings Foundation. Each year, Cummings invites employees to select a local organization for a $1,000 donation.
"I’m grateful that Natalie and Michael chose the Medford Fire Department for their
Employee Directed Giving initiative," Mayor Stephanie M. Burke said in a statement. "The Cummings Foundation has been extremely generous to the City of Medford, and for that, we are thankful."
Since 2012, Cummings' Employee Directed Giving has resulted in nearly $2.25 million in donations to nonprofits throughout the state.

"Given my recently retired uncle and cousin’s combined 71 years of service to the Medford Fire Department the donation is a small gesture for all of the work the Department does for the City of Medford," Breen said in a release.
Medford Firefighters Local 1032 President Eddie Buckley will work with the firefighters to determine the best utilization of these funds for the department.
