Medford School Committee Member Considering State House Run

MEDFORD, MA – A Medford school committee member is considering a run for state representative in 2020. Michael Ruggiero confirmed to the Medford Transcript he is thinking about running against Rep. Paul Donato after he was recorded on video discussing his potential plans.

He did not realize he was on camera at the time, and Ruggiero told the Transcript he regretted the tone used to describe Donato. In the video he said while he likes Donato personally, the state representative has "all of the factors I hate in politicians," the Transcript reported.

Of importance to Ruggiero is helping push for a review of Medford's city charter, which has not happened in over 30 years.
