MEDFORD TEENS LIGHT UP THE STAGE IN BOSTON CHILDREN'S THEATRE'S PRODUCTION OF 'THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE'

Performances August 6 – 9, 2015 Tickets On Sale Now

The roaring 20’s come to life in Boston Children’s Theatre (BCT) exuberant production of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE! Featuring the talents of 17-year Molly Fenn, 16-year old Genevieve McCarthy, 15-year old Sarah Pollock, and 15-year old Francesca Viggiani of Medford , THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE runs August 6 – 9 at Shore Country Day School in Beverly, MA.

Playing the role of aspiring actress ‘Ethel,’ Molly has been seen in numerous BCT productions including Fame, Hair, The Velveteen Rabbit and The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley. Also active with Watertown Children’s Theatre, Molly is a student at Medford High School.

As aspiring actress ‘Alice,’ Genevieve was last seen in BCT’s production of Fame. She has also performed with Magic Circle Theatre in Shrek and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and with Collins Players in Three Musketeers. Genevieve studies dance at Thistle Academy of Dance and is a student at Matignon High School.

Cast in the Ensemble, Sarah Pollock was recently seen in BCT’s production of Hair. She has also been seen in The Velveteen Rabbit and Pippin at BCT, Just So at Stoneham Theatre, A Christmas Carol with the Chevalier Commission, and The Sound of Music with Arlington Children’s Theatre. Sarah is a student at Matignon High School.

A member of the Ensemble, Francesca has performed with BCT in Fame and with Watertown Children’s Theatre in Singing in the Rain. Francesca is a student at Medford High School.

Based on the zany new musical that took Broadway by storm, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE is a high-spirited musical romp that will have audiences dancing the Charleston in the aisles! Based in New York City in 1922, young Millie Dillmount has just moved to the big city in search of a new life for herself. It’s a New York full of intrigue and jazz – in a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever. Directed by Rory Pelsue, with choreography by Nicole Soriano and Musical Direction by Justin Brown, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE has a book by Richard Henry Morris and Dick Scanlan, new music by Jeanine Tesori, and new lyrics by Dick Scanlan.

Performances of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE are Thursday, August 6 at 7:30 pm, Saturday, August 8 at 8 pm and Sunday, August 9 at 2 pm.
