Medford Woman Charged In Somerville Armed Robbery

A Medford woman and her boyfriend were arrested over the weekend after the boyfriend allegedly pulled a knife on a pharmacist.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A couple was arrested Friday and charged in the armed robbery of a pharmacist, Somerville police said. Kimberly Graffeo, 33, of Medford, and her reported boyfriend, 28-year-old William Oliva, were arrested after Graffeo allegedly told a Medford police officer she had driven Oliva to the store where the robbery happened.

The victim, a pharmacist at the Broadway store, told police he approached two men who had allegedly walked out without paying. They ignored his demand to return the items, and one "snapped" a black-handled switchblade and told him to "back off" when he got too close, police said. The men fled to a waiting car with two women inside. One of the suspects ran out of his flip flops and left them at the scene, according to police.

Police searched the area for the suspects or their car, a rented 2018 white Chevy Cruz with a Florida license plate. Graffeo, who has dual addresses in Florida and Medford on her license, was identified as the vehicle renter, police said.

Officers found the car on Woburn Street and towed it back to the Somerville Police Department. During that time, Graffeo allegedly called Medford police and said she had driven her boyfriend, Oliva, to the store and he had robbed it with a knife.

Oliva was found hiding behind the Woburn Street home and arrested. Graffeo was arrested at the same address. They both face charges of armed robbery.
