Medford's First Female Officer Retires After 35 Years
Detective Patricia Sullivan and her classmate, retired Officer Jeannie Reid, were the Medford Police Department's first female officers.
MEDFORD, MA — One of Medford's first female police officers retired last week after 35 years. Detective Patricia Sullivan, who joined the Medford Police Department in 1985, shares the honor with her fellow academy graduate, retired Officer Jeannie Reid.
Reid spent the majority of her career as a domestic violence and sexual assault investigator, according to the department. She worked with some of the community's most vulnerable residents, including young children and the elderly.
"Trish served with pride, honor and distinction," Medford police said in a statement.
