The spraying will take place after between sunset and sunrise on the perimeter of the areas, not the actual fields. Spraying will be targeting large vegetation surrounding the properties. No product will be applied to grass on the fields. With that, fields can be used with no interruptions. This product leaves a residual that can kill mosquitoes for multiple days as they land to rest. Once the spray dries it is no longer harmful to bees. The pesticide to be used is as follows: Trade name – Mavrik Perimeter; active ingredient – tau-fluvalinate; EPA# 2724-478. Spraying is contingent on weather but scheduled to be conducted between September 13th and 16th.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Board of Health at 781-393-2560.
