NAACP Endorses Medford Superintendent Finalist

The Mystic Valley Area Branch wrote a letter to the mayor and school committee this week voicing support for one of the finalists.

MEDFORD, MA – The local branch of the NAACP is voicing its support for one of the finalists for Medford superintendent. In a letter sent to the school committee and mayor, published by the Medford Transcript, NAACP Mystic Valley President Zane Crute endorsed Dr. Marice Edouard-Vincent, a district superintendent in the Boston Public Schools.

Edouard-Vincent and Thomas Martellone , principal of Fiske Elementary School in Lexington, are the two finalists to succeed Roy Belson.

"Dr. Edouard-Vincent is a daughter of immigrants who has lived a lifetime of understanding the need for equity and diversity across our schools," the letter read in part.
