New Medford Target Gets Opening Date

The "small format" store will open at Medford Plaza.

MEDFORD, MA – A scaled-down Target will open at Medford Plaza this summer. The 32,000-square-foot store, which will not hold the full stock of a regular Target, is set to open Aug. 14, according to the Medford Transcript.

The store will open in the former Stop & Shop at the corner of Salem Street and Fellsway. It was originally projected to open in July but the opening has been pushed back a month.

Target plans to hire about 91 workers for the "small format" store, which will sell groceries, clothing, beauty and health products and home goods, the Transcript reported. It will also have a CVS.
