Bruce G. Behan, of Medford, died peacefully at the Glen Ridge Nursing Home of Medford. He was 91.
Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, he was the son of the late Clifford and Lottie (Barkhouse) Behan. He was raised in Somerville and resided in Medford for over 60 years. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps during World War II, Bruce was a business man throughout his life and became CEO of JJ Daly Co. in Boston. He retired in 1992. A member of the Knights of Columbus, Bruce also bowled in the Sacred Heart Bowling League.
The beloved husband of the late Rose (Ficarelli), he was a devoted father of Joanne Foley of Rockland, Barbara Jenkins and her husband Jack of Medford and Bruce Behan of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to Bryan Foley and Lisa McDonough of Whitman and a loving great-grandfather of Julia Foley. The dear brother of Joy Marchitelli and the late Cliff and Ben Behan, he was a dear brother-in-law to Vi Behan, Verdie Behan and Ann Ficarelli.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday 4-7 p.m.
