Obituary: Gaetano 'Guy' Centrella

Centrella died Monday, March 3.

Gaetano A. "Guy" Centrella of Medford died peacefully in his home on Monday, March 3. A lifelong resident of Medford, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Margaret (Imbriano) Centrella. After high school, he joined the Marine Corps, proudly serving during World War II, after which he return to Medford and worked as a truck driver.

Guy was the beloved husband of 54 years to the late Lillian (Fleury), and the devoted father of Susan Sylva and her husband David of Arlington, Linda Centrella of Medford, Nancy Munger and her husband Kevin of Plaistow, N.H. He was the loving grandfather of Victor and Austin, the brother of Mildred Garneau of Medford, and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Saturday, March 8, at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
