Obituary: Joseph Maccarone, Longtime Medford Highway Department Supervisor
Maccarone, of Medford, died Monday, June 16. He was 82.
Joseph A. Maccarone, 82, of Medford, died unexpectedly Monday, June 16, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford.
Born in Boston, he resided in Medford for 60 years and formerly of the West End of Boston. He was the son of the late Bettina (Ciampa) and Giacomo Maccarone. Joseph was a supervisor with the Medford Highway Department for 37 years and retired in 1994. He loved the West End of Boston and was a world history buff also loved to visit forts anywhere in driving distance.
Beloved husband of the late Annette S. (Chiavuzzi) Maccarone. Devoted father of Donna Kobzik and her husband John of Windham, New Hampshire, Nancy Bontempo and her husband Roberto of North Andover, Jo Anne Chapelle and her partner William Crowley of Windham, New Hampshire, and the late Elizabeth A. Maccarone. Loving Papa of Jessica and Michael Kobzik and Zachary Bontempo. Brother of Jacqueline Spratt of Florida and the late Maryann Weaver.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
