Obituary: Mildred Gormley, Longtime Medford Resident
Gormley died Saturday, Oct. 11. She was 95.

Mildred A. (Reardon) Gormley, a resident of Medford for more than 70 years, died at the Woodbriar Nursing Center in Wilmington on Saturday evening, Oct. 11, 2014. She was 95.
Born in Somerville on Oct. 4, 1919, she was the beloved daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Kelley) Reardon. Mildred was a graduate of Bentley College and worked for more than 34 years as a CPA for Central Mutual Insurance Company. Mildred was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, entering the military in Boston on May 29, 1945, and receiving her honorable discharge from Henderson Hall in Arlington, Virginia, on July 11, 1946. While in the Marines, Mildred attained the rank of Corporal and worked as Clerk Typist. Mildred was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph Church in Medford.

She will be missed by her loving sister, Lorraine E. Thompson of Medford, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Francis L. Reardon, Edmund L. Reardon, Marion H. O’Connor and Marjorie M. Reardon.
Her funeral will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Ave., Medford, Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at 8:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Interment will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
