Shots Fired Near Medford Housing Development
Police are looking for a suspect who fled the scene after allegedly firing shots on Rockwell Avenue Tuesday night.

MEDFORD, MA – Police in Medford are looking for a suspect in connection with shots fired near the LaPrise Village housing development Tuesday night. Officers responded to the area of Rockwell and Riverside Avenues shortly before 8 p.m. and found several witnesses who were trying to flee the scene.
No one was shot or injured, police said. K-9 officers attempted to track the alleged shooter, who investigators believe got into a car and fled the area.
The suspect is described as a black male with shoulder length dreadlocks wearing a white tank top with dark shorts or pants. He went down Rockwell Avenue to Riverside Avenue, where he turned and may have gotten into a dark SUV, police said.

Police believe the shooter was targeting a specific person in a crowd near LaPrise Village.
"Although we feel there is no need to panic because this was not a random shooting, we are urging people in this area to use caution because this reckless person with a gun endangers the lives of everyone that may be around his target," the Medford Police Department said in a statement.
