State Rep. Paul Donato Announces Re-Election Bid
Donato has represented Medford and Malden for 20 years.

MEDFORD, MA — State Rep. Paul Donato announced his campaign for re-election to the State House Friday. Donato has represented Medford and Malden in the 35th Middlesex District since 2000. Over 20 years, Donato has served in a variety of leadership positions, culminating in his current role as the Second Assistant Majority Leader.
"I have been honored to serve the people of Medford and Malden for the past 20 years, and I am humbled by their faith and confidence in me to represent their issues and concerns on Beacon Hill," Donato said in a statement. "Today, I enthusiastically announce my campaign for re-election, and I am as energized and committed as my first day in office. I am proud of my record of open-minded leadership, working every day to validate and reaffirm the trust the voters have placed in me, year after year. I will always work hard every day to earn that trust, because I have never forgotten where I came from, and who I work for: the people of the 35th Middlesex District."
Donato has been instrumental in passing historic and precedent-setting legislation on education, climate change, public health and safety and setting the stage for an overhaul of the state's roadways and public transit system. He also secured $200,000 in funding for SCM Transportation, which provides rides for seniors and disabled Medford residents, and $100,000 for Malden park improvements.

"Together, we have accomplished so much, but there's still a great deal of work to be done. I'll continue to go to work every day to improve the lives of the people of my district, and the state of Massachusetts at large," Donato said in a press release. "From helping those less fortunate, to working to close the wealth/income gap, to assisting my constituents navigate the cumbersome bureaucracy of state government, I'll bring that passion for public service like I always have done and cannot wait to get started. I hope you'll join me!"
