Verizon Worker In Medford Hospitalized Due To Heat

MEDFORD, MA — A Verizon worker was hospitalized Friday after she collapsed due to the heat. The Medford Fire Department said the woman was going door-to-door on Harvard Street when she fell unconscious and collapsed between two bushes.

A nurse was driving by and saw the woman, who was barely visible from the road, according to the fire department. The nurse called 911 and treated the woman until emergency crews arrived.

"With extremely hot temperatures today please stay cool and hydrated," the Medford Fire Department cautioned Saturday.
